Tammy Slaton is shaking off any haters.
The 1000-Lb. Sisters star has been documenting her weight loss journey—recently sharing she's lost 500 pounds—and she wants her fans to know exactly why she's sharing so many photos of her new look.
"I take a lot of pictures, a lot of selfies," Tammy said in an Instagram video Aug. 27, "and I do, not because I think I look good—well, I do, a little bit—but mostly because I want to remember how big I was, what I look like."
And taking time to reflect has made the 38-year-old realize how much of a difference the 500 pounds has made, as she noted, "Dude, I was huge."
But her road to weight loss was far from easy, as Tammy revealed she "turned to alcohol instead of food," which she said "damaged" her as well.
However, she is determined to keep the change going.
"It'd be so easy to fall back into bad habits and gain all the weight back," she continued. "Then was this all for? Wasted time, wasted money, wasted effort—waste."
And as the reality star noted, "It's not a diet. They say it's a lifestyle change, it really is. I had a lot of demons, inner demons, that had to fight, and I'm still fighting."
Tammy—who stars in the TLC series with her sister Amy Slaton Halterman—concluded her video with a message to her fans, saying, "You're not alone. You can do anything once you put your mind into it. Never give up."
And those fans are incredibly proud of Tammy, with one commenting, "This is the healed Tammy that I've been rooting for!!! So happy to hear how encouraging you are and now can see the light at the end of that long tunnel. You go girl!"
Throughout her journey—which has included bariatric surgery in July 2022 and a 14-month stay in a weight loss rehab facility—Tammy has done everything she can do make sure she is motivating those who are struggling like she was.
"Always remember you are beautiful," Tammy wrote in the caption of her Aug. 20 TikTok. "You are strong. You are brave. You are loved and you are enough."
In another TikTok posted that same day, she shared, "I'm just up here having fun trying to make everybody smile and pass it around. Anything is possible. You're strong. You're beautiful. You are love. You are enough. Never forget that."
